IOWA HAWKEYES FOOTBALL PLAYERS VISIT WALCOTT SCHOOL COURTESY OF IOWA 80 TRUCKSTOP

WALCOTT, IA – “Go Hawks!” Thanks to the Swarm Partnership of the Iowa 80 Truckstop, the Walcott School hosted Iowa Hawkeye football players Yahya Black (#94), Kaleb Brown (#3), Aaron Graves (#95), Jay Higgins (#34), Nick Jackson (#10), and Luke Lachey (#85) on Friday, September 27th.  The football athletes got to meet K-8 students in the gym, where they had a Q & A session on their athletic journeys and playing at Kinnick Stadium. The athletes also took photos with each class, autographed foam footballs for the students, and even threw some passes back and forth.

Delia Moon Meier, Iowa 80 Group Senior Vice President and alumni of both the Walcott School and the University of Iowa was proud to welcome the athletes to the school. This is the third visit to the Walcott School from University of Iowa athletes that has been coordinated by the Iowa 80 Truckstop. “We’re glad we can give back to the Walcott Community. It’s fun to be back at the school and see all the artwork welcoming the athletes. The art classes created a big banner welcoming the Hawkeyes that was proudly displayed right inside the front doors. It’s heartwarming to fuel the excitement for these students. I’m glad we can include the Walcott School in our partnership with the Swarm.”
