IOWA 80 TRUCKSTOP COORDINATES HAWKEYE MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER APPEARANCE AT WALCOTT SCHOOL
WALCOTT, IA – The Iowa 80 Truckstop welcomed Iowa Hawkeye basketball players Josh Dix (#4), Owen Freeman (#32), and Brock Harding (#2) to Walcott Elementary School through the Swarm Partnership on Friday, September 20th. Dix, Freeman, and Harding visited with middle school athletes and discussed their athletic journeys, playing for the University of Iowa, and the importance of working hard toward their goals and focusing on getting good grades. The athletes also answered questions, autographed foam basketballs for the students, and played a few games of knockout. The day ended with an extra recess for the elementary students, who got to show off their basketball skills with the players.
“We’re proud to support both the Iowa Hawkeye athletes and glad we get to include our Walcott School students and teachers in these fun activities.” says Delia Moon Meier, Senior Vice President of the Iowa 80 Group. “Go Hawks!”
