WALCOTT SCHOOL GETS A VISIT FROM HAWKEYE FOOTBALL PLAYERS
WALCOTT, IA – At the end of October, the 390 students and staff at the Walcott Elementary School got the chance to meet Hawkeye football players Nick Jackson (#10) and Kaleb Brown (#3), courtesy of the Iowa 80 Truckstop in Walcott, Iowa through the Swarm Partnership. Jackson and Brown visited with middle school athletes and discussed their athletic journey, playing for the University of Iowa, and the importance of working hard toward their goals and focusing on getting good grades. The athletes then visited elementary school classrooms and read books, answered questions, and autographed foam footballs for the students. The day ended with an extra recess for the elementary students, who got to show off their football skills with Jackson and Brown.
“When we heard about the Swarm partnership, we knew we wanted to include our Walcott School students and teachers.” says Delia Moon Meier, Senior Vice President of the Iowa 80 Group. It was a great day with lots of smiles and cheers of “Go Hawks!”
