Tracy Lawrence to Perform at Walcott Truckers Jamboree on July 8th

WALCOTT, IOWA — Iowa 80 Truckstop is pleased to announce that Tracy Lawrence will be performing at the 31st Annual Walcott Truckers Jamboree on July 8th at 7 p.m.. The concert is being sponsored by Mobil Delvac. In addition to the concert, this year’s event will feature over 200 exhibits; a Super Truck Beauty Contest, Antique Truck Display; Iowa pork chop cookout; Trucker Olympics; carnival games; live music; a fireworks display and loads of fun for the whole family! Admission and parking are FREE! Shuttles will be provided from the parking area to the event grounds.

The Walcott Truckers Jamboree began in 1979 featuring a few exhibits, live music, food and a small display of antique trucks. That first Jamboree only attracted a few hundred drivers, a far cry from the 30,000 it attracts today. Even though the size of the Jamboree has changed over the years, you can bet that its focus hasn’t. Celebrating America’s Truckers is definitely what the Jamboree is all about. It is Iowa 80’s way of thanking drivers for hauling America’s freight.

“Each year we try to put on a bigger and better event to show professional drivers how much we appreciate the work they do,” says Delia Moon Meier. “We are proud to serve them and are grateful they choose to stop at Iowa 80. The Walcott Truckers Jamboree is one way we can say Thank You.” The 31st Annual Walcott Truckers Jamboree, will be held July 8-9, 2010 at Iowa 80 Truckstop, I-80 Exit 284, Walcott, Iowa.
