“We have some truly exciting things happening at this year’s Jamboree”, says Delia Moon Meier, Iowa 80 Truckstop Senior Vice President. “We will be breaking ground for an expansion of our Iowa 80 Trucking Museum and giving away an International CXT Pickup to one lucky truck driver on Friday the 13th. We also have hundreds of exhibits, Super Trucks and antique trucks to look at, pork chop cook-out, fireworks and more! The Jamboree is a great event for the whole family.”
The Walcott Truckers Jamboree began in 1979 featuring a few exhibits, live music, food and a small display of antique trucks. That first Jamboree only attracted a few hundred drivers, a far cry from the 30,000 it attracts today. Even though the size of the Jamboree has changed over the years, you can bet that its focus hasn’t. Celebrating America’s Truckers is definitely what the Jamboree is all about. It is Iowa 80′s way of thanking drivers for all of their hard work and dedication in hauling America’s freight. “We truly appreciate professional drivers and all they do to keep America moving. The Walcott Truckers Jamboree is our way of saying Thank You for delivering the goods we need,” says Delia Moon Meier.
